Repdem supports Megawati Soekarnoputri in 2009 Presidential Election
Relawan Perjuangan Demokrasi (Repdem), wing organization of PDIP, Monday 18th June 2007, held a conggress. Six Candidate will fight to replace Beathor Surjadi and Budiman Sudjatmiko.
The General Chairman of DPN Repdem Beathor Surjadi said that the first congress of Repdem at Asrama Haji Pondok Gede will be open by General Chairman of DPP PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri. This conggress will circle the willing of Repdem to fight to make PDI Perjuangan as the winner at General Election in 2009.
At this moment Repdem has 73 branches which are contained of 67 DPCs and 6 DPDs from11 provinces. Currently the mass basis of Repdem are at Nothern Sumatera, Southern Sumatera, West Java, and East Java. Before general election in 2009, Redpem will be has branches at 33 provinces and 444 city/town.
The candidates that already apply are Wignyo (formerly an activist from PRD), Masinton Pasaribu (Famred), Budiman Sujatmiko (formerly chairman of PRD), Aji Kusuma (formerly activist of Gebrak), Adi Tjiptono, and Marlin Dinamikanto.
Chairman of DPN Repdem Infocom Section, Wanto Sugito, said that 500 attendances will join the congress of that organization which is already exist for the last two years. In this first conggress, Repdem will declare their commitment to support Megawati Soekarnoputri in 2009 Presidential Election.
